NUS

WITH Maya Triay & Mariona Jaume - Support Teatre Principal
From October 6th to 18th
NUS is a research on proximity, symbiosis, and being intertwined. A new perspective on the world around us and the way we relate to it.

Tenderness, wildness, and the act of caring will be the starting points for this new research.

How can vulnerability be translated into a physical impulse within dance? Does an instinctive and free body interact more kindly with its surroundings? How is the act of caring translated into movement?

These three concepts will be the driving force to set both mind and body in motion. And above all, to bring us together and connect as creators and performers.

Maya Triay & Mariona Jaume - Support Teatre Principal

Maya Triay and Mariona Jaume studied in Munich and Madrid, respectively, and have been involved in various contemporary creation projects. They are currently based in Mallorca and have been working together since 2022, thanks to the Art Jove Program of the Balearic Islands. This initiative led them to create their first joint work, "Trenta set i mig", marking the beginning of their collaboration as a team.

2023 was a year of growth and connections, during which the project "S’ALBUFERA" was born in an embryonic form. It received the creation grant from the Institut d’Estudis Baleàrics, premiered at Palma Dansa 2024, and toured festivals and fairs across Catalonia and Mallorca, including La Mercè, FiraB!, Noche de Patrimonio, Festival Z, among others. This tour is expected to continue in 2025 with the support of Magrana Arts.

They are now preparing for a new collaborative research project titled NUS, which explores tenderness, wildness, and the act of caring.
