Rodia Vomvolou is a dance playwright and researcher based between Amsterdam and Athens.
What is the role of dramaturgy in dance and performance? How can we approach a project from a dramaturgical perspective? How can we think and act dramaturgically in a creative process?
Taking these questions as a starting point, in this workshop participants will have the opportunity to explore dramaturgy on both a theoretical and practical level, through individual and group tasks of a written, oral and practical nature.
The workshop will address contemporary approaches and concepts of dramaturgy, as well as the role of the playwright. In addition, it will provide practical dramaturgical tools and exercises that activate a dialogue with the aim of reflecting, evaluating and transforming the creative process through the perspective of dramaturgy. At the same time, a space will be created for participants to reflect on the relationship between dramaturgy and choreography.
