Open Call for EiMa RESIDENCES (first semester 2026)

The EiMa Creation center opens a call for the first semester 2026 for research and creation residencies for professionals who develop their work around dance and the living arts.

These residencies can be held in two different spaces: EiMa creación in Maria de la Salut and La Impossible in Palma

Objectives

  1. Grant 5 residencies to local, national and/or international artists and companies, with the support of Institut Estudis Baleàrics, Consell de Mallorca, Inaem
  2. Support the professional fabric by providing space, time and infrastructure for creative work, so that residents can research and generate their projects
  3. Accompany and care for creative and research processes by involving them in the fabric of our territory and facilitating the public presentation of the result of their process

Duration / location of the residency: according to the needs of the project and availability of spaces

Residence period: from March 9 to June 21.

Maximum number of participants: according to the needs of the project.

EiMa offers:

  • Work space with wooden floors and natural light
  • Table and office space with wi-fi
  • Basic technical equipment (sound equipment and audiovisual projector).
  • Logistical support.
  • Communication and dissemination of activities related to the residency
  • Offer accommodation to non-residents in Mallorca in a Maria de la Salut house with kitchen
  • Possibility of financial aid according to needs, studying each case
  • Possibility of participating in professional conditions as a guest artist at the EiMa Festival that will be held in July in different places in Mallorca

Requirements for people who apply

  • Both national and international people or teams
  • Have a professional career and/or accredited training of no less than 2 years
  • Have a proposal that involves: risk, innovation, development of a process, with established parameters of reflection and that are at the same time realistic and evaluable, even if they imply a degree of error or failure
  • Artists selected in previous calls may be presented who demonstrate the need for continuity

Obligations of the artist or company

  • Comply with the established start and end dates of the residencies
  • Offer a parallel community activity, free and public of the work process
  • Provide promotional materials for the dissemination and dissemination of the activities
  • Adapt to the work rhythms and schedules determined by the center
  • Participation in the activities organized by EiMa during your stay
  • Mention and publish, in a visible place, in all dissemination and communication materials, the EiMa logo
  • Sign the letter of commitment at the time of acceptance of the residency
  • After their stay in residence, the selected companies must submit (no later than one week after the end of the residency) a report of the stay of a maximum of 2 pages and attached photos

Selection

  • The selection of the residency space for each of the projects selected by the commission will be carried out taking into account the fundamental characteristics of each project, as well as the availability of dates for the artist and the space. Although we cannot guarantee this in all cases, the award criterion will attempt to provide both the type of space desired by the artist and the ideal period for the residency.
  • The integrity and artistic innovation of the proposal will be assessed, the relationship between the community project and the territory, as well as the expanded programming practices (workshops, presentations, talks, participatory projects, etc.) that can support the stay during the residency.
  • The professional background or situation will be assessed.
  • The suitability of the project to be carried out with artistic assistance will be assessed.

Period for receiving proposals

The period for receiving proposals extends until February 19, 2026.
