BACO – by a childlike omnipotence

WITH Pierandrea Rosato & Mariachiara Troianello (aka Katatonic Silentio)
del 28 d0abril al 4 de maig

choreographic project by Pierandrea Rosato that explores themes of hyper-modernity, alienation, and the tension between hauntology (nostalgia for unrealized futures) and technological accelerationism. Inspired by thinkers such as Giorgio Agamben, Mark Fisher and Jack Halberstam, the work challenges conventional narratives and artistic processes. The project is developed from three perspectives: Timelessness in Art where the work, based on Agamben’s contemporary concept, embraces the idea of art as a search for the light of stars that have not yet reached us, challenging linear dramaturgy and embracing failure as a form of creative exploration; Dark-Futurity-Queer: influenced by Fisher’s speculative philosophy and aesthetics of the “strange” and “uncanny”, the piece questions normative perceptions of reality and envisions alternative queer futures; and Child Omnipotence, inspired by Avgi Saketopoulou, the project examines the interplay between risk, trauma and queer consent, using the figure of the child as a symbol of both vulnerability and transformative power. Through a performative and ritualized approach, the project aims to create an unpredictable and open experience that reimagines perception and knowledge. Artistic research is enriched by the collaboration with sound artist Mariachiara Katatonic Troianello (Katatonic Silentio).
